Living Mycelium Sculpture (2026)

Living Mycelium Sculpture is an ongoing body of work exploring co-formation between living organisms, fabricated structures and environmental conditions. Fungal mycelium is cultivated within 3D-printed forms, where growth responds to designed openings, material constraints, humidity, temperature and acts of care.

The works develop through a negotiation between intention and biological agency. While the structures establish conditions for growth, the fungi exceed, resist and transform those conditions in unpredictable ways. Through this process, the sculptures examine how bodies and forms emerge through relationships, and how care can simultaneously sustain, direct and constrain life.

Bringing biological growth into contact with synthetic and technological systems, the works consider porous boundaries between living and artificial, control and autonomy, stability and transformation.
