Beyond the Body 形骸之外 (2026)

Beyond the Body is a porous stoneware sculpture exploring vulnerability, transformation and the permeability of the body. Its cracked, skin-like surface was produced through an experimental ceramic treatment, while an internal breathing light creates a slow sense of pulse, warmth and liveness.

Light passes through openings in the vessel and projects enlarged shadows beyond its physical form, allowing the work to extend into the surrounding space. The vessel can no longer function as a closed container; instead, fracture and porosity become conditions through which the body expands, diffuses and changes. The work reflects on injury, recovery and the possibility of understanding the body not as self-contained, but as continually shaped through its encounters with materials, technologies and environments.
